Dancing Noodle Girls

After being told to simply capture "essence" of the dancers. I attempted to quickly capturing the dancers. I suppose it was relatively helpful, and I enjoyed doing this after I started to understand "how" to remember poses even if the dancers never stood still.  I chose my favorite "doodles" and placed then apart as they were all on seperate pages.

  1. I enjoy the style and simplicity in your figures. While saying that, you seem to have captured the "essence" of the pose.

  2. I really like seeing these loose gesture sketches. You did seem to capture the motion.

  3. Bert,
Despite the difficulty you expressed to me during this session, you really loosened up and managed to capture some really elegant lines with the dancers. When you're forced to work quickly to create gestures, your decision making process must also speed up. This will help you when you return to longer poses that may need energy and dynamic posing.
Try to go beyond this and draw more specific forms (head, hands, feet, basic clothing) - but I'm glad you were able to loosen your line.

  4. Ooh, I like these. Very fluid lines. Definitely get a sense of the movement.
